Login - Remember Me

By Default the "Remember Me" option is Checked. So make sure you hit LOGOUT if you don't wish to remain logged in.

if we uncheck it, does it stay unchecked? or does it come back everytime we sign on?

It will re-check itself next time the page is reloaded (IE you close the browser down and go back)
