It's pointless.

Only serves as a popularity contest for the attention whores.

Besides, we already have a rating system: Reputation. (I'd rather do without ANY rating system.) I don't bitch about Reputation because it ties in with posting in the forum. I'd like to think that people give (or take) Rep to (or from) a person based on what they post.

That's what is really important: the forums. That's what this place is: a forum website correct?

I am pretty neutral about it. I don't hate it but I dont see myself using it a whole lot either.

I just realized that this is nothing new to HoC only for the new members, its a different format than before, but we had this option on the old HoC. I liked it then and I like it now

I agree with teresa. It was here before the upgrade, and is now back. It didnt seem to affect anyone before the site changed. Why should it bother people now?

I think that the option to NOT be voted should be available if users don't want to be rated and such, but for some of us, we like the different options that could make the site grow.

as I stated, it never hurt the site before (just a couple months ago) and it was never a problem then, I really dont think it would all of a sudden turn into a problem now. (I do miss the option to see who it was that voted for you and stuff.... the old version we had looked neater, and I understood it a bit more)

I never even noticed that we used to have it. But as I stated before I dont seem myself using it so thats probably why I never noticed we had it before.

I am going to state my opinion and I really don't care who I piss off.

Derek has busted his ass trying to make this site work and everytime I turn around someone is bitching about something and I am tired of it.

WE ALL don't appreciate him enough and the things that he does for this site to give US something to do.

As for the changes, it would be nice to have some new people here,

whether it bring drama or not, that is why there are moderators (sp) to keep that on the down low.

If you don't like drama, then I don't know how you can live in the real world, cause no matter where you go it is going to be wherever you are.

You want my honest opinion, I think that this is Derek and Lisa's site and they should be able to do what they want, whether we like it or not, yeah we are entitled to our opinions, but I think we should atleast give it a chance to see if it will attract more users before we decide to do away with it, that is what is important right? Getting more users to post, and make new threads, and to get more memberships??? Not to just post, yeah it is a forum site, but other things are what attract the users to come and visit!

in all honesty, more people not only means more posts, but it will help with the buying of memberships as well. The majority of this sites costs come from derek, and mines pockets, and what little it does draw in money wise, goes right back into the site as well. It would really be nice if for our two year anniversary the site itself could pay for the big chunk that comes out of our pockets. We arent talking a few dollars here and there, the cost is in the hundreds of dollars.

I don't think the site needs to be a huge site, or even as big as most of the other forum sites, but to have more than 20 or 30 people log on in one day would be nice.

The whole idea of advertising, and adding new features is to draw in more people. We don't want to shut the doors on new users, and to have a variety of different things means that atleast each person will like a couple of the options.

There have been a few people to say something similar to this and it irritates me. He ASKS people to post their opinions. Just because someone doesnt agree with something on the site does not mean they dont appreciate him or Lisa for the work (and money) they put into the site. Not eveyone is going to like everything that goes on and the are intitled to state their opinion.

You do have the option to not have the rating thing on your profile, and you can view who has rated for you as well. if you go to your profile right under the rating thing it shows you who and what you got rated.

Yes, Derek and Lisa make the choices around here not us. If Derek and/or Lisa didn't want our opinon on stuff they wouldn't made a thread about it. If I'm asked for my opinion, by Bob, I'm gonna give it. Derek asks my opinion on stuff around here all the time. We don't always agree. No biggie.

I get the impression that just because I (and few others are/) am against this idea means that I (/we) don't want more people here and/or are afraid to change.

~And this site has gone through many changes since its inception and still love this place, if not more.
