My Mood:  | Driving Lessons As many of you know, I don't drive. Had a couple of impromptu tutoring sessions about 6 years ago when I first left home, and lost interest. Especially now that I'm back in Seattle, I have no real need for a car. There's enough traffic here as it is, and I like the bus. I can sit back, relax, listen to my new mp3 player (  ) and even doze off, provided I don't miss my stop.I've been at my new job, overnight stalker (ahem, stocker) at Target for about six weeks now. I avoided being trained to pull pallets when I was first approached with it because it involves heavy use of a pallet jack. I'd been around them at several other jobs, but never used one, and there's a lot of steering, control, and depth perception involved. Not really my strongest traits. Last night, George (the guy who's done most of my training) insisted that I learn. He pulls pallets on the nights he's there, but the girl who usually does it on his nights off is moving up in the company and someone has to take over. He's a good teacher, but I still went into it kicking and screaming, and found that I'm actually not quite the disaster of the road I thought I would be. I still have a hard time with parking and around tight corners, but I'll get better. Or I'll kill someone. I did run over my foot last night. Luckily, the jack was empty or I probably would have broken it. Me and my tolerance for pain, I completely forgot about it until about ten minutes ago. I rubbed my right heel over the top of my left foot, which feels bruised, and was like "Ohhhh yeahhh." Heh. :fucktard

My Mood: | LOL, luckily I just have to go down the main aisles, but some of those pallets are freaking heavy, dude. A 4x4 foot pallet stacked 6 feet high with laundry detergent is not by any means light. Phew! I'm just glad the jacks stop right away if you do lose control of them. Now if I could just master my own feet...
