Do you read?

Well we haven't done a book thread in a while so here it goes.

What was the last book you read? Would you recommend it?

right now i'm reading "Bourne Identity" and so far its way better than the movie... lots more action. prior to that i read "the paladin" by C.H. Cerryh (or something near that spelling) and that was pretty good too. not sure where paladin came into it tho...

I just finished Eragon, great book. And before that it was the His Dark Materials Trilogy. Both excellent reads.

I don't remember what I last read because at that time I was reading three different books. One during breaks at one of my last jobs, one before bed and one when I got bored. I haven't read anything quite recently though because I ran out of books to read or reread. But I'm in the process of finding the double book Imajika by Clive Barker (that's gonna be a bitch though because the copy I'm looking for they stopped printing about 8-10 years ago, both books in one in hardcover). I may be stuck having to find them in the seperate paperbacks.

Sometimes you can get old out of print books through Borders or Amazon. They can sometimes order you one even if its very old. Or you might find a used copy from them. I don't know if you have arleady tried that but thought I would mention it. Happy hunting!

The Bible cover to cover can be a bitch, there's a reason they have daily reading plans. I'm all for it though(God God God WOOO).<--happy G O D chant. And as far as out of print books go you can almost always fins them at Barnes and Nobles online. The carry all kinds of that good shit from the 70's and 80's.

I've looked on ebay and found one copy. the person selling it wasn't that bright. And most of the prices on books I found on there are outrageous for the condition of the books.

I've tried B&N Online and the store itself and they told me they would try to find one, a week later I get an email from both saying they can't find one.
About my only other option is to just go for the single books in paperback. Not like it matters to me, anything Clive Barker and I'm happy.

I like the chant.

I refuse to read it through daily reading plans simply because I have done that aready and when doing that you are already accepting other peoples views of what passages go together and have a preconcieved notion of what the passages are meaning. I would rather read it front to back so that I can put it together in my own mind.

I just finished Emily Climbs by L.M. Montgomery this morning. Same author who wrote the Anne of Green Gables books. Very good if you want to read about simpler times. They all take place in late 1800s/early 1900s on Prince Edward Island.

I'm also reading Safe Word by Molly Weatherfield to Harlan when we actually have time off together. It's the sequel to Carrie's Story, they're both BDSM fiction novels.

I'll more than likely read the last in the Emily series next, then I want to reread all the Harry Potter books. I've only read them all once each, and I'm betting they'll make more sense the second time around.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was the last thing I read, as far as a book, but I've read about three magazines in the last week...Cosmo, Newsweek, and GQ (it was the bf's)

I was talking about the ones where they just break it up evenly over 365 days. They take from cover to cover with no jumping, supposed to help obsorb more wihtout burning out. The ones where they reccomend which scriptures should go together always pissed me off anyways.

I just started Anne Rice Blackwood Farm tonight. Won't have it finished till next cuz of my weekend but I'll let you al know what I thought of it then.
