| Sock Violater Site Owner | Super Duper Image Guru's I'm wondering if anyone is / or knows of some Image guru's who could look at a JPG Image and find out why it doesn't read correctly. It was taken by a Camera phone. Windows recoginzes it as a valid file .. but the Forums / Gallery do not....

| Sock Violater Site Owner | Windows etc... read it fine. It's the gallery / Forums that do not (both are actually 2 different programs)

| Sock Violater Site Owner | That works fine. I'm more curious of "what" is wrong with the image .... It's taken from a cellphone so I'm guessing there is something inside the image... i'm just curious what it is ![]()

My Mood: | JPEGs have several codecs, most of them are interoperable with many programs, but its the ones for cameras and certain versions of Adobe products that have problems. Its usually in the tags that hold information about what camera was used, when it was taken, what settings were used, etc... It probably doesn't work in the forums depending on which photo processing software your server is using. Mine uses either ImageMagik, or NetPBM... I don't remember which, but I haven't had any problems since switching servers. I know the surest way of fixing it is to get a hold of Paint Shop Pro 5 (I have it if you want it) and just open the file and resave it. It strips all those tags out, figuring its just garbage information. I've never run into a compatability problem or quality problem for that matter using that program. That's just my experience anyway. It could be that I'm just a great big poof.
