Formating problems

Alrighty then. I downloaded a file from the net, it's just words and a few pictures, nothing special. But when I try to run it in Microsoft Word a box pops up and tells me I need to select the fromat that allows me to read it. not so difficult but none of the fromats work, NONE. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this.

I tried help on the computer, it said to hit file and then save as and select a different format. I can't even open the damn thing until it's reformated.

It's in Pdf. I screwed up it's not the format it wants me to select it's the encoding. I have no clue what to do none of them works.

Ah, well if it's in .pdf you must get Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view it and print it. This is free and downloadable at... (WinXP ver.) http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

If you are wanting to edit it; that's a bit more difficult. You have to pay for a program to do that. (I haven't found anything free.)

Dammit. now I have to connect the damn thing to the net. Here's hoping it survives, I don't have virus protection.
