crappy computer

well the computer seems to have finally died..all the previous get arounds are no longer working.. the computer will get past boot up if and only if I remove the hard drive, cd rom and floppy.. oh and all the usb connections.. of course this means windows can't run, I put it all back together again... and its the same ol resets before even getting to accessing BIOS.. I really think its the motherboard... but I just tried running the hard drive on this computer.. and it won't even start on safe mode... this has me really concerned .. oh.. and I need to be able to access the new hard drive before Thursday.... any suggestions LOL

well here is an update.. hard drive is fine.. it is definatly the motherboard thats at fault, although here is a problem,.. the design of the motherboard.. to have to processor fan on .. it covers the motherboard processor arm..so this means.. if you ever manage to get the processor off the motherboard in the first place.. getting it back on is a different matter.. as you cannot get at the arm.. ooh guess what the people who I am wanting to return the motherboard want me to do.. thats right.. remove the processor.. I feel much pain happening

ok another update... I bought a new PSU got a 600w one to replace the 380w that was previously running the new computer.. and guess what.. the preliminary study seems to show that its fixed it, makes me wonder really how power hungry the motherboard is

I highly doubt it's a power hungry motherboard.

well this is from another forum.. and the thing I came across was the same symptoms that were being discribed

Quote:
I Hate to say this but the PSU may still be to blame - The AV8 requires quite a bit of power to turn it over. I have read about people with older model Antec TruPower and TruBlue PSU's not being able to power up the AV8. These people where able to get updated replacements from Antec that where able to supply enough power the AV8.
this is the forum I took the quote from that has the full posting
