| kats' british boy toy Honorary Crazed Psycho | crashing computer Ok its the same computer that I had trouble with before (and yes the problem of old still exists), although now its started crashing on me, its acting like its powered down, although the motherboard is showing that it is still active, I restart the computer and it acts like its fine, only to crash again after only a few minutes of it running, and the last time it did it, the screen went like white noise interference on a regular TV. The processor is not over heating, I am suspicious that it might be the graphics card, but it has not played up before, and I am wondering if this could still be motherboard related. Any hints would be of great use, as I have to complete a project for Wednesday night, and if this continues to play up the way it is, there is no way I can finish it.

My Mood: | well, with the interference like you mentioned it might very well be graphics card related.....could even be that the card isnt seated right, open the computer, and check all your connections, pull each card one at a time, make sure the contacts are clean and then make sure you put them back in good and tightly in thier places. Once thats done try turning the computer on again and see whats happening. if still going bad, can also check, to be sure there isnt an overheat somewhere else in the computer, and that the power supply isnt going faulty (that could account for the computer acting like its powered down.) or overheating....hope one of them helps, if not ill try to think of some other things that might cause that. |

| kats' british boy toy Honorary Crazed Psycho | thanks for the tip there ![]() I think.. think being the loosest term here, I worked out the issue, the program I am using I had some images that I just copied and pasted from another program, and I did not close that program, but I closed it recently, and the problem started, I think it was because it was trying to locate the images on the other program that was causing a comflict, therefore causing a crash, although I am a little perplexed why it did not happen immediatly rather than waiting for a few minutes.
