need geek help!

I have a My Space that I can't load..... because I can't load myspace. Kinda scared cus last time this happened I turned off my computer and then it wouldn't start back up.... this is the new computer that is doing this.... any ideas on what could be going on and how to fix it. I have norton and it says that there is nothing wrong with the computer at all. I'm going on a e machine with windows xp home if it helps at all..... please give some help if you can.

hey I don't do alot of surfing.... I just tried yahoo it self and that wouldn't load either

I understand. just wanted to make sure. does internet explorer lock up? or does it just say that it can't display the page?

it locks up. On task Manager it says not responding..... it can stay that way for half an hour before I get the default no responce page

Might try clearing your temporary internet files and stuff like that.

You may need to install the Flash media player I think is what it is ...

clearing your temporary internet files may work. if it does not then your max transit or (mtu) may be overloaded. this is from a memory leak that windows has had since windows 95. it can usually be fixed by restarting your puter.

as to it not starting back up before did you have to pull the plug out of the wall or flip the on off switch on the power supply?

also usually when this starts happening it can be due to spyware. and norton unfortunatly does not catch it all. spyware will overload your mtu even just being rebooted an hour ago.

internet files cleaned out, no cookies left, defragmented, disk clean compleated, switched to mcafee virus scan plus, restarted computer, no I did not just pull the plug last time, McAfee can find no spy ware, pulling out hair..... ready to shoot husband..... looking at window...... if I pitch the computer at a strict forty five degree angle I might be able to hit the neighbor's car hopefully while he is in it and solve two problems at once........................... still haveing problems... my computer hates me.

the only other thing I can think of that you can try is reinstalling Internet Explorer. there might be an error with the program.

if after reistalling internet explorer does not work. back everything you want to save. and reload the whole system.

you might try downloading mozilla or firefox too, my step-dad owns a small soft-ware company and he has only bad things to say about the newest version of explorer.....
