I go for the firefox route personally... speaking of geek help, my router is playing up, I have once got it to have a DNS server address that it will respond to, other than that it thinks it has not got one, I can get access by plugging straight into my mac, but not via the router, and doing web design, it is useful to see what goes on the main browsers, this unfortunately does include IE, so I need access for my PC, I have tried the ISP, and they are pretty shoddy at the help, pretty much follow a set pattern, anything that deviates from this makes them nervous, I am semi certain it may be the router, I think the only way to test this theory is to plug it into someone elses network.. any thoughts?

Of course that all depends on what ISP you have or what router you are using. Some ISP's do MAC filtering and only allow what the MAC was at turn up to get through ... I hate working with those kinda ISP's .. and I do on a pretty regular basis. Such wonderful things I have to deal with sometimes ![]() | ||

I am pretty sure the 2 are not connected, friend of mine (probably an uber Mac geek.. no really, he programs Mac stuff for fun.. crazy man) said that the router should be getting its DNS from the DHCP, seems odd that it also apparently does not get a valid ip address, from itself!?!.. I have a feeling I might have to put some post onto Mac forums, as it is all a bit beyond me now.

No, I don't think it has that.. nor in the advanced settings, going to see if I can give it one more try, then I am taking it back, as I tried it on my neighbours broadband, and he has a router that works fine, yet mine did not work on there either

I found out the DHCP client ID was my MAC address, put that in, and not working, turned off the bloody thing last night, and now it is working.. I am very suspicious... I do not trust things that did not work, and now do work
