Another attempt...

it's been a while since I wrote one that actually rhymed... got any ideas on what the title might be? I know it ain't great, but it was worth a shot

how can you understand
the person that I see
no solace in the darkness fall
such a lonely soul is he
you say he can't be that bad
to be so loving and kind
there is no wrong you see in him
you say he's is a rare find

but if you saw what I have seen
those thoughts would surely change
you'd run and hide away from him
as though he were derranged
I have seen every passing glance
each look of pure disdain
there's disgust in every moment
only to cause him greater pain

a monster he must be inside
to warrant such disgrace
but a mask of joy he proudly wears
to hide his sorrowed face
mistakes he's made within his life
regretting each and every one
damned to suffer endlessly
as his sanity comes undone

so ask yourself do you really think
that he is still a prince
an angel in this hell called earth
always making perfect sense
or have you seen the bitter truth
and dare not begin to wonder
for if you do, all those thoughts
will soon be torn assunder

your prince will be a pauper
from jekyl to mr. hyde
you'll hate every fiber of his being
and will not hold it inside
but it's alright if you do so
it's not like you'd be the first
but since he cares so much for you
you'd certainly become the worst

to dwell on the few mistakes you have made, will turn the most simple, into horrifying. Do not dwell on the past, but look at the present. Certainatley I have done some monsterous things, but I will not, refuse to, dwell upon them, for fear that they will drive me crazy.

You are NOT a bad person. Not everyone will agree with the choices you make, or the path you choose to walk, but that doesnt make you a monster.
