The Past

I wish that I could change the past
Maybe then the love would last
Instead of just fading away
And disappearing completely one day

The past is done it stays the same
And ultimately we both are to blame
For the way everything went
It’s surely not the way I meant

Tomorrow is another day indeed
Maybe I’ll find just what I need
Although I’m not sure what that might be
I guess I’ll have to wait and see

Hopefully everything will be all right
And I’ll be able to see the light
That makes tomorrow a brighter day
And I’ll be able to find my way

Find my way to the top again
And I’ll have a chance to finally win
I know that I can make it there
How it happens I don’t really care

When I’m there my life is good
I’d stay there forever if only I could
I’ve already been there a time or two
So being there is nothing new

Staying up there is the hard thing
The fall from there sure does sting
But it happens time and again
Remember you can’t always win
