| Brandon 1st Blood, Part 2 | Well folks, with people taking a renewed interest in poetry here, I thought it may be a good idea to put together a compilation of our works. So here's a few points for disscusion. 1. Would you submit? 2. No one gets top billing, every contributor gets equal recognition. 3. All profits to HoC, sort of like a bake sell or something. 4. Length of book, amount of poems featured. 5. Involvement of others besides me to determine what goes in and what doesn't. (I don't want sole responsibility for those particular decisions.) Keep in mind these are just a few talking points to feel out the situaton, nothing is definite yet. I would be the one handling submitting the book for publishing, not to mention getting it together. Artwork will be needed if this happens, so you don't nessicarily have to write to be a part of this. Let me know what you all think, I'm counting on to think this over and give feedback. And remember, this is only loosely associated with HoC, so questions come to me, unless you have problems with me, then go ahead and go to admin.

| Entirely Too Lickable | Alrighty then, so let me get this straight? You know how to get a book done up and sold? Nah... not what I meant... So, this book sells. Profits go to D for site upgrades, upkeep and longevity, right? And we can submit poetry or artwork for said book? Now, my next question is a doosy... do we, the artists, get a percentage off of the purchase price? Nextly, where should we send submissions? I'm in, if this takes off....

| Brandon 1st Blood, Part 2 | We can take care of submissions right here at HoC, if it happens I'll start another thread speciffically for them. As for percentages to the contributors I'm not real sure how to work that out. I suppose we could take the number of contributors add a spot in for an HoC split and divide up the profits evenly. I knew this one would be one of the bigger things to work out. As for getting a book published all you need is a rough manuscript copied about a dozen times and sent off to publishing house around the country. The only real money concern is copy fees and those aren't big enough to worry about. A copyright fee is $45 and can be done after publishing (up to five years after). I hope that covers everything.

| Entirely Too Lickable | Nono.. what I meant was a percentage off of the purchase, like say, those that have works in the book would pay, for example $14.99, were as the general public would pay $19.99... like an employee discount type thing... I guess I could have just worded it as "get a discount on the purchase price" instead of the way I did... I wouldn't want any type of kickback for contributing, unless it came in the way of benefits on this site, if the proceedes went to D for the site...

| Brandon 1st Blood, Part 2 | I'm glad you feel that Topher, I'm hoping everyone agrees. As for a discount price at stores, Nope, you can't get one. But, most publishing companies issue what are called authors copies, and I'm sure if it was agreed upon before publishing than all contributors could get a first run copy of the book at no to very little charge.

| Entirely Too Lickable | K. That sounds good. I'd definitly go for an author's copy. And if/when this happens, I'm sure I could talk a few people into buying a copy. Hell, I may even just buy one for the greater good.

My Mood: | I would contribute as long as I don't lose the rights to my poems, I want my works to always remain mine, all I would ask for is an Authors Copy and that all the proceeds go to this site for upgrades and such.

| Brandon 1st Blood, Part 2 | This is why I gave the link for the copyright office. All original works are copyright, Period. Technically you don't even have to get it copyrighted. Also, all original works will remain the property of the author, it's the compilation that would be coppyrighted seperatley, this would prevent others from publishing our book without our say so. And the way it's looking from everyone who has showed interest, all proceeds will go to the HoC. Glad to have you on board mate. And D, if you got any poetry feel free to contribute man. As far as more help, if not for you we wouldn't have the HoC as a staging area, Big Thanks man.
