My freshman year at UNT I hosted a protest concerning the DOMA act.

It consisted of a 'mock' lesbian wedding being held in my dorm, with an actual lesbian minister (well she was not a minister yet, but that is what she has plans of becoming)

It had a wonderful turnout, both for support and disagreement with the cause. Oddly enough though it went very smoothly.

The reception afterwards offered a chance for the dissenting and agreed to talk and debate amongst themselves in a civilized manner.

It was one of the coolest things I have ever had the privelage of being a part of.

bah I just started to get all emotional thinking about this...

so many people put so many hours and made use of their talents ...i wish that I had more pictures...or something...this thread does no justice to what actually transpired...

On a Grand scale it did not affect much...but in my little corner of the world it seemed to accomplish much more than expected...

it all starts with the small things I suppose...and i'm pretty little
