| Austin Powah's Masha | Bad Dog? My dog is a service animal that is accused of being aggressive. Please read this all the way through before making judgments. There have been several out of vest incidents where other dogs have lunged or otherwise challenged her and she has responded. One animal was injured because she tried to dominate her in her own house while she was pregnant and ready to deliver. Today there where two incidents. The first one occurred when another dog approached her with tail erect, shoulders forward, and eyes locked onto her's. I reprimanded her for responding and put her into a time out. She immediately layed down and ignored the other dog. Another dog that she has had problems with in the past (as have other people) was playing with a toy right by her and I think she may have snapped at her. My dog responded by putting her to the ground. No injuries were found on the other dog. (my dog thinks it's funny to crack a cow thigh bone in the middle of the night when you are trying to sleep). I'm now being told that my dog should not be allowed as a service animal because she is aggressive. This person had a dog that snapped and went after another dog. I don't know if her dog injured the other one but I do know that after getting the two apart that the dog continued to try to attack the handler for a minute. The person who is saying my dog is aggressive is classifieing my dog into the same area as this one. The service dog organization has a zero aggression policy that is explained as thus Any dog who displayed outward unwarranted aggression towards another dog while working will be immediately disqualified from the service dog training program. Any dog who displays aggression towards the handler at any time will be immediately disqualified from the program. As far as I can tell and from other people who have witnessed the occurrences my dog was simply acting in a defensive state towards dogs that were showing subtle aggression. So am I a bad person for standing up for my dog or is my dog just a bad dog?

| Entirely Too Lickable | Re: Bad Dog? I wouldn't have reprimanded her while she was pregnant but the other times, I guess I can't really make a judgment without actually seeing the incidents. By having her removed, do you mean the dog or the person that doesn't like your dog?

| Austin Powah's Masha | Re: Bad Dog? the person. I'm the president and owner of the organization. She has been trying to over step her boundary on many incidents. It's gotten to the point that she is now being weeded out slowly by all of the board members. No one is happy with her. She has stolen money, refused to work on issues with her own animal, and made board decisions without the consent of the board. I set up the board of directors to prevent snap judgments like this one but she doesn't seam to care about the bylaws of the organization.
