My Mood:   | Role Playing Games (no, not the ones in the Bedroom) I just thought to wonder how many (or few) of the people here like to play RPGs. I my self have been playing for a few years, and am always interested to meet other gamers.

My Mood:  | I used to play RPGs. Vampire mostly. (just cause it is a cool system) Actually got hold of a Wraith book, but its pretty hard to Role Play. I played DnD 3rd ed once. They never let me play it again, because I broke it.

My Mood:  | Nice thread  ...I have been playing a little over 10 yrs. now. Do a little Story forming. dm'ing... From Assenstion (mage) to, forgotten realms, Dragon Lance, Running my own version of what I like to call Forgotten Lance. Gilgar can attest to that he is one of my 2 best victoms.

My Mood:    | i mainly do MMORPGs...  world of warcraft is my latest one, used to do EQ... but deleted my EQ acct because i got tired of the ppl on there. havent played wow in like a month myself...

My Mood: | Kool, I love role playing  (though I'm not much into bedroom role playing...guess that's the scorp in me) I am currently involved in a Live Action Role Play mostly centered arround Vampire, I used to be a character, but now I am a narrator . I personally prefer the d10 system (Vampire , Werewolf , Mage , Exalted , Wraith  , and um... oh... yeah hunter ) though I do play DnD, and yes I play 3ed actually 3.5, but that's not important.... I like to see that there's still people who will admit (or broadcast) that they game

My Mood:  | Played D&D, AD&D...but later on got more into miniature combat games...Warhammer, WH40K, Battletech.... Just kinda fell out of it about ten years ago, went to playing mostly video games, PC and console platforms.

My Mood: | Well, there are alot of different things that different people like about these games. The first thing you have to remember is that these games come from a time when video games weren't even arround, because basically, all games like Dnd are, is a video game without the graphics. Many people are turned off by this immediately. "Why would I want to play a game without graphics" or "How do you play a video game without graphics?" are questions I get alot. As to how, the only answer I can give you is a set of dice and your imagination. Now the why gets more complicated. Some people like that you are there with a bunch of other people sharing and enjoying the experience, you have people to laugh at and make fun of, and make faces to, other people like the fact that these games aren't limited by the strict paramaters, limitations, and failings of a computer program, anything can happen in these games, if you can describe it, it can happen! (I'd like to see a computer game that can actually give you what you wish for when your character casts a wish spell [a spell from dnd]) Some people like these games for the same reason they like video games, that they are an escape, they allow you to get away from this world for a little while, and experience the grand and powerful life of a hero, or villian, or god even. As for Live Action Role Plays ("LARPs") they're fun because not only are you totally in controll of the script for your character, but you can actually see most of what's going on. I've only been playing for about 10 years or so, more if you count the many games of pretend I used to play as a kid, but I hope that my answer helps, and if any other gamer out there thinks of something I missed, please post it!

What mage is ..is...Magic has always been in the world never left with the demise of Merlin of King Authors Court. Where you try to bring magic back to were everyone knows of it..with out having panic. Werewolf,Vampire,Hunter all basically co-inside with Mage. There is a game called ShadowRun that was started out of a book writen of future times...Seattle Washington. Nuclear Holicost came along 2011 or something like that..along with other chain of events to Awaken Magical Creatures and Magic in Humans..changing some Humans to Dwarves,Elves,Goblins,so on so on..and bringing in Hopeful things to help people out like Cybernetics. This particular game was started back in 1988 I think...But it has spawned a few movies. Such as Matrix..where in the game you have a cybernetic computer implanted into your skull and can use a jack port to plug into cyberspace. Oh-Yeah...Johnny Pneumonic was one of the movies that first came out of this game. But there are such games that are set for the old west, modern times, its basically a computerless way of entertainment. That I don't think I will ever give up. I hope I have helped if only a little bit.
