HoC Revamped

I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm curious on everyone's input.

There is a new version of the forum software out. It is still in the Release Canidate Stage (Meaning it's a Canidate to be a final version and mostly bug free). It has a lot more features built into it such as Social Groups, New Profiles etc...

A lot of the Mods installed right now are extremely buggy, parts are disabled because they left the site open to be hacked, and are no longer supported by the developers who made them.

In order for me to do this it would include a major overhaul of the site. Meaning the "main" un-changed part of the site would be the forums themselves. Everything else (as things get setup and configured / customized) would have to be re-setup by you (IE Profiles)

But it would also give the site and it's members a chance to re-design it.

Re: HoC Revamped

I think people would prefer to keep their profiles...

On the other hand there's not many people around here these days.

So, no way to carry over the current profiles to the new version?

Re: HoC Revamped

Would we lose everything? Like points, post counts and gifts too? What about gallery pictures?

Re: HoC Revamped

Gifts & Points yes. But I would re-distribute them based on post count. Posts would be largely unaffected.

The "Text" Portion in Profiles would be unaffected as well. Comments would be transferred over. Any customizations would be lost.

Re: HoC Revamped

interesting, but I guess the ultimate question is would you get a kick out of revamping, or would you plan on only minor blood letting to begin with .. see what I did there huh huh huh
